"Steampunk" Craft Class in OP!

A Small Cleverness, a nifty rubber stamp and paper arts store on Blanding Blvd. in OP is offering two classes by the nationally known artist Barbara Maguire.  Here are the class descriptions which I copied from the store's online newsletter:

Introduction to Soldering
with Barbara McGuire
Saturday, October 25
10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.

Join us for an intensive class on basic soldering or as a refresher class for those who would like to review and/or improve soldering skills. All the basics will be presented for edging slides and wrapped glass as well as attaching rings. (Note: The class fee for students who took Barbara’s summer soldering class is $35.00.) Copper foil, glass, and collage prints will be provided. Bring workbox, soldering iron, stand, flux, flux brush, sponge, sal ammonias, or paste flux and lead-free solder.

Dimensional Soldering
with Barbara McGuire
Saturday, October 25
1:00 to 5:00 P.M.

Learn to build structured dimensional sculpture with soldered components. Useful tips will be presented to help aid a clean and secure joint, as well as a continuous soldered bead (a soldered line). Learn to combine the dimensional effects with bezels, gears, and rings to capture images in a resin glaze for a “steam punk” found object effect.

Donna, the owner of A Small Cleverness, indicated that if the classes scheduled for Saturday becomes overbooked and there is sufficient interest from the steampunk community that it might be possible to schedule a private class on Sunday.

If you do sign up for the class, make sure to bring a workbox.  There is a list of supplies towards the end of the newsletter.

NOTE:  I've been taking classes at this shop for many years. I've learned some very useful techniques for creating altered art there.  The shop has a fun but professional atmosphere.  I have no connection with the store other than that.
